We are currently looking for a Senior Commercial Gas Engineer to join our busy team in Greater London covering the South East and Home Counties — delivering safe, compliant commercial gas services on complex systems where others can’t quite get it right.
Hours of Work: full time
As a Senior Commercial Gas Engineer, you’ll split your time between hands-on field engineering and in-depth technical support — guiding engineers, carrying out audits and technical investigations, reviewing gas certification and service documentation, and ensuring every gas-related activity meets company procedures, current legislation, industry standards and Gas Safe Register requirements. You’ll act as the key link between operational engineering teams, contract management and the wider technical and compliance functions, helping to drive quality, consistency and continuous improvement across the business.
Senior Commercial Gas Engineer Duties
- Servicing, maintaining, fault-finding, repairing and commissioning commercial gas appliances and associated systems — while providing technical oversight, quality assurance and compliance governance for the wider team.
- You’ll review documentation for accuracy and completeness, undertake technical audits and site visits where extra investigation or intervention is needed, support resolution of high-risk or recurring technical issues, and prepare clear, professional reports and recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
Senior Commercial Gas Engineer Requirements
- Current Gas Safe registration through the employing business.
- Relevant, current commercial gas ACS qualifications appropriate to the company’s work activities.
- Strong experience servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on commercial gas appliances and systems.
- Detailed understanding of commercial gas safety, testing, commissioning and certification requirements.
- Ability to interpret manufacturers’ instructions and work accurately to technical standards, with strong written communication and report-writing skills.
