The Technical Service Manager AOV & Smoke Control is responsible for identifying, developing and converting technical opportunities within CoSourced Groups existing customer base and new accounts introduced through the Business Development team. The TSM plays a critical role in the Groups service-led growth strategy, where maintenance contracts provide visibility of estate condition and create opportunities for remedial works, system upgrades and lifecycle replacement projects specifically relating to AOV systems and motorised smoke dampers.

Combining strong technical expertise with commercial awareness, the TSM scopes works, prepares quotations and converts opportunities into revenue across AOV systems, smoke control panels, motorised smoke dampers and associated control systems. The TSM works closely with Business Development Managers, Account Managers and operational teams to ensure opportunities are technically sound, commercially viable and delivered to a high standard. The TSM may be required to support or oversee installations, assist operational teams on complex technical tasks and ensure solutions are practical and aligned with fire strategy, cause & effect and customer expectations. They maintain the highest standards of technical integrity, safety and customer service.

  • Technical Sales & Opportunity Development
    • Convert engineer recommendations, inspection reports and survey findings into commercial opportunities.
    • Scope remedial works, system upgrades and lifecycle replacement projects including AOV systems and motorised smoke dampers.
    • Develop solutions aligned with fire strategy, cause & effect and system compliance requirements.
  • Quoting & Commercial Development
    • Prepare technical quotations for remedial works, installations and lifecycle upgrades relating to AOV and smoke control systems.
    • Secure material pricing and labour cost assumptions at the point of sale, ensuring all works are fully costed prior to submission.
    • Price full system scope including AOV actuators, vents, smoke dampers, control panels, cabling, containment and commissioning.
    • Support complex technical bids and large remedial or upgrade programmes.
  • Cross-Selling & Account Growth
    • Identify cross-sell opportunities across AOV, smoke control and associated life safety systems.
    • Introduce additional services to existing customers where technical risks or deficiencies are identified.
    • Work closely with Business Development Managers to support new client opportunities.
    • Collaborate with Account Managers to expand service coverage across customer estates.
    • Support the development of multi-service client relationships.
    • Build trusted relationships with customer estates teams, facilities managers and asset owners.
    • Provide technical advice regarding system performance, compliance requirements, cause & effect and lifecycle planning.
    • Support handover from sales to operational delivery teams.
    • Assist in resolving technical challenges during project delivery.
  • Technical Delivery Support
    • Provide technical supervision during AOV and smoke control installations.
    • Support commissioning activities including validation of cause & effect and system sequencing.
    • Ensure works delivered align with the scope agreed at the point of sale.
    • Responsible for converting AOV and smoke control opportunities into remedial works, upgrades and lifecycle projects.
    • Works across existing customers and new accounts introduced by the Business Development team.
    • Supports the growth of life safety systems within the customer estate.
    • Ability to interpret fire strategy documents and cause & effect matrices.
    • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of margin requirements.
  • Performance Metrics & Indicators
    • Remedial works and project revenue generation (AOV & smoke control).
    • Margin performance on quoted works.
    • Strong technical experience in AOV, smoke control or building services.
    • Experience delivering or quoting AOV and smoke control remedial works and installations.
    • Experience working within facilities management or technical services environments.
    • Strong technical understanding of AOV systems (natural and mechanical).
    • Ability to scope technical works and develop commercial proposals.
    • Understanding of lifecycle planning and compliance requirements.
    • Familiarity with CAFM or CRM systems such as Atom.
    • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Mentorship & Support
    • Technical Development ongoing training across AOV systems, smoke control panels and motorised dampers.
    • Commercial Development coaching in technical sales, pricing strategy and margin management.
    • Cross-Sell Strategy training in identifying multi-service opportunities within customer estates.
