Cosmo 1:1 is a premier online learning platform that connects K‑12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalized lessons. As an ESL tutor, you will have a flexible schedule that you set and will deliver 50‑minute one‑on‑one lessons to students based in Singapore and Hong Kong, building a welcoming and fun learning environment. The pay rate for this position is $20 USD per class plus additional incentives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized one‑on‑one instruction for your students.
- Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner.
- Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student's age and ability.
- Submit class feedback after each lesson.
- Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner.
- Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting.
- Communicate with Cosmo staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3 years of experience teaching grades K‑12 in ELA.
- Experience with K‑12 ELA standards and curriculum.
- Experience teaching ESL learners.
- Teaching qualification preferred but not required.
- Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000.
- Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1.
- Available between 8‑2 PM GMT Monday‑Friday or 5 AM‑2 PM GMT weekends.
- Minimum of 20 hours of availability per week.
- Access to a private and quiet location.
- Passion for helping students learn.
- Currently located in the UK.
- Approachable and able to build rapport with students.
- Patient and willing to adapt lessons to individual learner needs.
