We are working exclusively with our client to find an Enterprise Account Executive.
About:
Our client is the leading intelligence platform for the global energy storage market, helping investors, utilities, developers and traders make better commercial decisions through independent market data, forecasting and analytics.
Founded by two engineers who identified a gap in the rapidly evolving energy storage sector, the business has grown from selling market reports to becoming the trusted intelligence platform for more than 200 organisations worldwide. Customers use the platform to understand market risk, identify investment opportunities and maximise the value of their energy assets.
Having grown to 8 figure revenues, with over 50% year-on-year growth and more than £30m in funding, the business is entering its next phase of international expansion. They are now hiring an experienced Enterprise Account Executive in London to win and develop larger strategic customers across Europe.
This is an opportunity to join a proven, high-growth business while its enterprise sales motion is still being built. The successful candidate will inherit strong market demand and marketing support, while bringing greater structure, qualification and commercial discipline to complex opportunities.
Key Highlights:
- Currently generating 8 figure revenues, growing over 50% year-on-year and targeting close to £20m ARR by the end of 2027.
- Raised more than £30m in funding, including a recent investment round of almost £25m to accelerate international growth.
- Trusted by more than 200 organisations globally, including major investors, utilities, independent power producers and financial advisers.
- Selling a highly differentiated market intelligence platform.
- Typical customers include alternative investment funds, pension funds, utilities and businesses investing in or operating energy assets.
- Enterprise opportunities involve senior decision-makers across Strategy, Business Development, Investment, Finance and Analytics, alongside procurement, legal and end users.
- Current contract values range from £30k to £150k ARR, with many multi-year agreements and significant opportunities to increase average deal sizes beyond £100k.
- Approximately 80% of EMEA revenue has historically come through inbound demand, with an established marketing team identifying and engaging high-potential accounts.
- Joining as the business introduces a more structured sales process and builds a repeatable enterprise playbook across qualification, discovery, stakeholder management and closing.
- Working alongside an experienced international sales team, with Account Executives currently based across London, New York and Australia.
Role:
- Owning the full enterprise sales cycle, taking strategic opportunities from initial discovery through business case development, commercial negotiation and close.
- Selling subscriptions typically worth £80k-£120k ARR, with the opportunity to win larger, multi-year agreements across complex enterprise organisations.
- Engaging senior stakeholders within utilities, investment firms and other organisations deploying capital into the energy market.
- Building strong relationships with director-level economic buyers while developing champions among the analysts, strategy teams and operational users who rely on the platform.
- Running structured, consultative discovery to understand customers' investment strategies, commercial risks and decision-making processes.
- Creating multi-threaded sales processes across business stakeholders, procurement and legal rather than relying on a single internal contact.
- Qualifying opportunities rigorously, identifying the genuine path to purchase and being prepared to walk away from deals that lack a compelling reason to progress.
- Challenging customers constructively, establishing commercial urgency and maintaining honest, accurate visibility over deal progress and forecast position.
- Working patiently through long and complex buying processes without allowing opportunities to lose momentum.
- Collaborating with Marketing, Customer Success, Product and leadership to turn strong market demand into repeatable enterprise revenue.
- Contributing directly to the evolving enterprise sales playbook by improving messaging, discovery, qualification, account planning and opportunity management.
- Helping define how the business segments and approaches its largest European accounts as it moves towards a more deliberate enterprise sales model.
Requirements:
- A proven record of achieving or exceeding quota in an enterprise B2B SaaS, data, intelligence or subscription-based sales role.
- Experience closing complex opportunities worth £80k+ ARR, ideally including six-figure and multi-year agreements.
- Demonstrable success selling deeply into large organisations through multi-stakeholder buying processes involving senior decision-makers, users, procurement and legal teams.
- Exceptional discovery and qualification skills, with the ability to establish business impact, uncover the real buying process and distinguish genuine opportunities from deals unlikely to close.
- Experience selling into sophisticated commercial buyers, ideally within energy, utilities, financial services, investment, data or another complex market.
- Comfortable operating in a low-volume, high-value sales environment where trust, credibility and patience are essential.
- Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge customers, push back constructively and create clear next steps.
- Honest and disciplined in forecasting, with the ability to explain precisely where an opportunity stands and what must happen before it can close.
- Intellectually curious and able to understand a sophisticated product, market and customer problem quickly.
- Comfortable working in a scaling technology business where processes are still evolving and individual contributors are expected to operate with autonomy.
- Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work effectively across Marketing, Product, Customer Success and leadership.
- Direct, self-aware and low ego, with the confidence to challenge others and the openness to be challenged in return.
- Guaranteed OTE during the first quarter, subject to completing the agreed ramp milestones.
- Stock options.
- Hybrid working from the London office three days per week.
- 25 days' paid annual leave plus five flexidays.
- Private healthcare and dental cover for you, your partner and your children.
