The Operations Manager oversees all aspects of operational and customer service activities within the Cosentino Center, including material handling (shipping / receiving), inventory management, logistics & delivery, warehouse operations, and team leadership. The role ensures cost-efficient, safe, and high-quality operations that support customer satisfaction and financial performance.
What you will do
- Operational Excellence & Strategy
- Drive cost reduction and efficiency improvements across the Cosentino Center.
- Define and implement optimal center layout, workflows, material flow, and operations.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, identify root causes of issues, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Logistics & Delivery Management
- Plan and maintain daily delivery schedules with optimal routing and capacity utilization.
- Oversee external transport providers and, where applicable, coordinate in-house fleet management.
- Ensure on-time, damage-free deliveries and manage logistics exceptions and customer problem resolution.
- Inventory & Quality Control
- Oversee inbound/outbound quality inspections, damage control, and returns handling.
- Ensure inventory accuracy via cycle counts, reconciliation, shrinkage control.
- Develop loss prevention strategies and controls.
- Financial Accountability & Cost Control
- Own the operational P&L: budget, cost control, variance analysis, and cost optimization.
- Monitor operational cost drivers (labor, transport, utilities, equipment).
- Coordinate with Sales Admins on AR/AP tasks as needed.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local workplace health & safety laws, policies, and regulations.
- Lead safety training, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Maintain and enforce SOPs, Standard Work, Job Safety Analyses, and safety culture.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Coach, develop, and evaluate operations, warehouse, and administrative staff.
- Set performance goals, conduct yearly performance reviews, and drive accountability.
- Promote a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Cross-Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with Sales, Customer Service, Logistics, HR, and Finance to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Escalate issues proactively, align on service commitments, and support business growth.
- Provide operational input into sales forecasts, capacity planning, and business strategy.
- Support / Backup (as required)
- In exceptional situations, assist with order entry, customer escalations, or warehouse activities to ensure operations continuity.
- Prepare or validate documentation for shipments, customs, or transport requirements.
What you need to succeed
- Education
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum: Diploma or equivalent experience in operations / logistics environment.
- Work experience
- Minimum 5 years of operations / logistics / warehouse management experience (or equivalent).
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing diverse operations (warehouse, delivery, customer service).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or alternatives) and data analysis.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with expectations for continuous improvement.
- Working knowledge of relevant regulatory / safety standards in your jurisdiction.
- Technical / Tools / Systems
- Proficiency in SAP (or equivalent ERP), MS Excel / data tools.
- Familiarity with route planning tools, logistics software, warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Knowledge of safety management tools, SOPs, risk assessment, compliance systems.
