We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ship Agency Assistant (m/f/d) to support the Agency department in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Chartering Manager in daily operations, including preparing and maintaining records of chartering agreements and negotiations.
- Support market analysis by tracking and reporting on shipping rates, trends, and competitor activities within the dry bulk sector.
- Help coordinate communication with clients, brokers, and ship owners to facilitate efficient chartering processes.
- Maintain up-to-date vessel and cargo data, ensuring accurate information flow within the chartering department.
- Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and market insights.
- Monitor vessel performance and financial metrics, providing regular reports and insights to the senior management team.
- Assist in the negotiation of charter contracts and ensure compliance with established company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with various departments, such as operations and finance, to ensure seamless charter execution and effective issue resolution.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving chartering processes and overall service delivery.
- Previous experience in ship agency or the marine sector preferred.
- A hardworking, proactive team player with a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- IT proficient, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Flexibility with working hours, including availability for out-of-hours duties (evenings, weekends, or bank holidays) when required.
- Willingness to travel to ports in the UK, Ireland, and Gibraltar when necessary.
- Mandarin (Chinese) language skills are an advantage.
