Are you a hands-on Health & Safety Manager who knows how to keep busy project sites safe, compliant and moving? Can you give clear, practical guidance to project teams, site supervisors, engineers and subcontractors?

Cosaf Environments Ltd is looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to take ownership of health, safety, quality and compliance across our office, workshop and live project environments. Based around Bolton / Manchester, this full-time, permanent role includes hybrid working where suitable and regular UK-wide site travel. You will be the company’s competent person for health and safety matters, helping us meet our legal duties, maintain accreditations and keep safety practical, visible and effective. This is not a desk-only role. You will be out on live sites, working closely with project teams to make sure safe systems of work are understood, followed and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead health and safety standards across office, workshop and project sites
  • Support project managers, supervisors, engineers and subcontractors with daily site safety
  • Prepare, review and maintain RAMS, construction phase plans and project safety documents
  • Review subcontractor RAMS before work starts
  • Carry out site inspections, audits and compliance checks across UK projects
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and site guidance
  • Support CDM compliance, welfare arrangements and safe site set-up
  • Investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions
  • Maintain health and safety records, audits, training and corrective actions
  • Support accreditations such as SafeContractor, ISO 45001 or similar systems

The person

You will need SMSTS, a NEBOSH General Certificate, a full UK driving licence and experience in construction, mechanical services, M&E, HVAC, industrial services or building services. Strong knowledge of UK health and safety law, CDM Regulations, RAMS and site-based risk management is essential.
