Job Description

As an Assistant Buyer on the menswear team, you will support product development across all knitwear categories.

You will contribute to driving sales and profitability by supporting the development of a strong, customer‑focused assortment aligned with COS aesthetics.

Working closely with Buying, Design, Pattern, Production, Material, and Supply Chain teams, you will help secure orders that meet brand and customer requirements across time, price, quality, and quantity, supporting meaningful growth within the department.

What you will do

  • Be part of reviewing and analysing the departments product, assortment, quantity and selling, considering actions according to the business needs and present sales figures.
  • Support to maximize the departments sales and profitability by maintaining timelines both before and after order replacement.
  • Monitor and react to how the departments customers are affected by trends and their surroundings
  • Drive the day‑to‑day organization within your team
  • Manage the post flow to and from recipients
  • Conduct regular analysis of our competitors and provide insights to your team, ensuring we offer our customers great value for money.
  • Communicate with the production office regarding product development. Follow up order placements and meet deadlines.
  • Support with driving the product development from start to end and in close collaboration with the buyer and in line with dept margin targets.
  • Prepare and assist fittings, organize agenda, provide samples at the right place, right time and right quantity.
  • Responsible for handling samples as well as overseeing and maintain the sample wardrobe, making sure all samples are kept neat and tidy
  • Raise orders and order updates.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer within menswear (knitwear experience desirable).
  • Strong product development knowledge, with experience partnering closely with in‑house Design and cross‑functional teams.
  • Commercially minded with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Comprehensive understanding of market trends, competitor activity and customer needs, with a passion for contemporary fashion and design.
  • Ability to produce high‑quality, accurate work, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines. You should also be able to demonstrate resilience under pressure.
  • Ability to analyse issues logically, use data and evidence to guide decisions & anticipate and address issues before they arise.
  • Able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, you should be able to explain technical or complex points simply and keep stakeholders informed and updated.
  • Ability to work constructively with other colleagues, share knowledge and support teammates. You should also be openminded and accept feedback professionally.
  • You should be able to adjust to changing priorities, learns new tools and processes quickly and show curiosity and self‑development

This is a full time permanent role based at our Head Office in London, 5 days per week.
