Job Purpose Summary
To lead and oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the business. Accountable for the performance and results of themselves and their own teams. Provide clear leadership to team leaders and professional staff ensuring resources are deployed effectively to meet functional objectives, analysing and improving performance when required.
What You Will Do
- Lead day‑to‑day operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance across teams.
- Manage and develop staff, setting clear expectations and driving a high‑performance culture.
- Monitor KPIs, SQDCP, analyse performance data, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plan and allocate resources, materials, and capacity to meet business and customer demand.
- Manage departmental budgets, control costs, and support profitability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and company standards through strong processes and governance.
- Build cross‑functional alignment with Supply Chain, Quality and Finance.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and external partners to support operational delivery.
- Identify risks, resolve complex operational issues, and implement mitigation plans.
What You Will Need
- 5 GCSEs (Grade 4‑9) or equivalent.
- Level 2 or above Management qualification (ILM, CMI, NVQ or equivalent).
- Further education in Operations, Business, Engineering or related fields is advantageous but not required.
- Significant experience in a leadership role within the medical device sector (5+ years).
- Outstanding communication and people skills.
- Experience working within ISO13485/FDA regulated environments.
- Knowledge of cleanroom (ISO 7) and controlled environments.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desirable.
- IOSH training is desirable.
- PC literate; proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
