Cory is preparing for the handover of Riverside 2, our second Energy from Waste facility, scheduled to go live later this year. As our new Warranty Engineer, you will act as a central figure in ensuring the plant performs reliably and efficiently throughout the initial defects liability period. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of one of the UK's most significant sustainability infrastructure projects and the largest energy‐from‐waste campus in the UK.

In this role, you will monitor and evaluate the plant's performance using our CMMS and associated reporting tools. You will analyse availability data, track performance against guarantees, and identify any underperformance or emerging defects. Your insights will directly contribute to the plant's operational decisions and strategic responses during early operation.

A key part of your work will involve managing warranty‐related processes: documenting and tracking issues, distinguishing between Cory and OEM responsibilities, and supporting commercial back‐charge processes. You will chair vendor meetings, collaborate with our Legal, Commercial, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations teams, and keep senior management up to date with any critical developments.

You will also support long‐term plant optimisation by contributing to maintenance regimes, spares strategies and defect‐resolution approaches. With occasional travel to vendors and partners, this is a hands‐on, high‐impact role suited to someone proactive, organised and confident working in a fast‐moving engineering environment.

To thrive in this role, you will bring at least 10 years' industrial experience with strong familiarity across mechanical and electrical equipment. You will have worked with high‐value contracts over £2m and be confident interpreting contractual requirements, especially those relating to warranty claims and procurement processes.

You will need strong communication and negotiation skills, plus the ability to produce clear, persuasive reports. As a self‐starter, you will be comfortable building relationships across multidisciplinary teams while also managing your own workload and priorities under pressure. Experience working with CMMS and procurement systems will be essential.

A recognised engineering qualification—either a degree or a completed apprenticeship—is required, alongside a leadership or management qualification. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is expected, and experience with MS Project is desirable. Understanding of H&S legislation such as COSHH, PUWER, PSSR and Electricity at Work will be valuable, and NEBOSH or IOSH certificates are an advantage.

Finally, you should be able to familiarise yourself quickly with new plant environments, processes and procedures. The role is full‐time on site, Monday to Friday, with occasional travel and the possibility of extending beyond the initial two‐year period. This is a two-year, fixed‐term contract.
