Cory operates the Barking site where we are in the process of developing a brand-new Waste Transfer Station facility, in addition to its existing Transfer Stations operated on behalf of the Western Riverside Waste Authority (Smugglers Way and Cringle Dock), City of London (Walbrook Wharf) and Tower Hamlets (Northumberland Wharf). We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to add to the team at Barking. The successful candidate will provide an important management role to implement the planned preventative maintenance programme, repairs, modifications, procurements, projects, and other engineering aspects of the Barking operation. Key elements of the role: The successful candidate will: Ensure that the site is compliant with current legislation, including environmental legislation Maintain the health, safety and security of Site Manage plant, equipment, infrastructure and vehicles Manage personnel and contractors Manage service agreements, contracts and projects Manage finance and budgets Manage all internal and external communication and documentation The individual we are looking for will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and experience: Holder of necessary qualifications and competencies for an electrical/mechanical position IOSH Managing Safety NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable) IOSH Fire Safety for Managers (desirable) CDM Construction, Design and Management Regulations (desirable) Knowledge of health and safety legislation Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications Operational knowledge including vehicle, plant and equipment Prior experience of managing a maintenance team Be an excellent all-round communicator.
