Our client is an established independent food and drink group who are entering a defining phase of growth. Having built a loyal following and strong brand identity, the business is now expanding its venue footprint and moving toward a more structured, scalable multi-site operation. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to help lead that transition. This is not a floor-based or shift-driven role. It is a strategic leadership position with real ownership and influence.
You will have responsibility for the performance of multiple venues, working closely with Venue Managers to build a disciplined, repeatable operating model without losing the character and culture that have made the business successful. The next phase is about professionalising without corporatising. Structure without suffocating creativity. Evolution, not revolution.
The Opportunity
- Take full commercial ownership of venue performance
- Lead the opening of new sites from fit-out through to launch
- Build and embed clear, repeatable food and service systems
- Translate food concepts into scalable, assembly-led operating models
- Ensure the business is not overly reliant on individual chefs
- Introduce project management and operational systems that reduce friction
- Lead recruitment, training and performance management across venues
- Act as the operational link between production and hospitality teams
This is a role for someone who enjoys building, not just maintaining.
What We Are Looking For
- An Area Manager or Multi-Site Operations Manager with hospitality management experience
- Excellent PM skills with significant involvement in new site openings
- Comfortable owning P&Ls and holding managers accountable
- Confident in interpreting margin, labour and performance data
- Experienced in setting up processes, not just inheriting them
- Pragmatic when simplifying menus or tightening operations
- A strong people leader who can balance accountability with culture
You must be commercially minded, structured in your thinking and comfortable having direct conversations about performance.
Why This Role Is Different
- Genuine autonomy and ownership
- Visible impact on growth and expansion
- Opportunity to shape how the group operates long term
- Clear progression as the business scales
- A brand with personality that wants to keep it
If you are an experienced hospitality operator who wants to build something scalable rather than just manage what already exists, this will be a compelling opportunity. For a confidential conversation, please get in touch.
