You will work within a multidisciplinary product team and collaborate with product managers, business analysts, designers, testers, architects and operational colleagues to deliver secure, accessible and maintainable solutions. The role offers the opportunity to work with modern technologies including React, Next.js, TypeScript, C#, .NET and Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop secure, accessible and responsive user interfaces using TypeScript, React and Next.js.
  • Develop secure and maintainable APIs and backend services using C# and .NET.
  • Deploy, operate and support applications hosted in Microsoft Azure.
  • Work with cloud services, databases, source control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Write clean, readable, testable and maintainable code.

  • Use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, debugging and documentation workflows.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand requirements and develop practical solutions.
  • Share knowledge and support colleagues in resolving development and live-service issues.

About You

We are looking for a pragmatic and collaborative software engineer who takes ownership of their work and is comfortable working across both front-end and backend development. You will ideally have:

  • 3+ years' professional experience developing full-stack web applications and delivering software into production.
  • Strong practical experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React and Next.js, or strong React experience with the willingness to develop your Next.js skills.
  • Good practical experience with C# and .NET, including object-oriented design and web API development.
  • Experience working with relational databases and data access technologies such as Entity Framework Core.
  • Experience developing or supporting applications in Microsoft Azure, using services such as App Service, Functions, Azure SQL or similar.
  • A good understanding of Git, CI/CD, automated testing, application security and accessibility.
  • Experience working within modern software development and delivery practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of work through to production.
  • The confidence to ask for support when needed and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous to have experience with:

  • Supporting and modernising live services, including diagnosing and resolving production issues.
  • Working in a regulated, public-sector or similarly controlled environment.
  • Azure monitoring and observability.
  • Messaging and API management services.
  • Container-based application hosting.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative product engineering environment where you will have ownership of meaningful development work and contribute across the full software lifecycle. How to prepare for a job interview at Corus Consultancy

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Corus Consultancy uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
