We are looking for an experienced and committed Children\’s Social Worker to provide critical support to our team based at Mercury House, Richmond. This is a short-term, office-based assignment covering the recruitment process within the Children & Young People\’s Service. About the Role You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people, working directly with families, professionals, and multi-agency partners. You will be expected to manage complex cases, including child protection and court proceedings, while delivering high-quality assessments and interventions. North Yorkshire Council operates under a defined practice model, grounded in systemic principles, Signs of Safety, and family-seeing methodology, promoting collaborative and strength-based approaches to social work. Key Responsibilities: Deliver statutory social work services to children and families in line with legislation and best practice. Manage a varied caseload, including child protection and court cases. Undertake assessments and develop outcome-focused care plans. Work closely with families and partner agencies to ensure child safety and wellbeing. Prepare and present high-quality court reports and attend hearings as necessary. Record all work to a high standard and in a timely manner.
