Temporary Maintenance Operative / Handyperson
Location: On-site (Free parking available)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 2-3 months initially, with the possibility of extension, covering a long-term absence due to a major operation.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm or 9:00am-5:00pm. Occasional earlier starts or later finishes may be required, with advance notice provided.
Pay Rate: £16.00-£17.00 per hour
Essential Requirements
- Must have previous experience working as a Handyperson/Maintenance Operative within a school, hospital, healthcare, or similar public-sector environment.
- Standard DBS certificate (required before starting).
- Must bring DBS certificate and government-issued photo ID to the first shift.
- Up-to-date CV required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out general maintenance and handyperson duties.
- Small DIY repairs and building maintenance.
- Changing light bulbs.
- Basic plumbing repairs, including:
- Repairing pipes and taps
- Fixing leaks
- Replacing tap cartridges
- Resealing pipes
- Replacing washers
- Repairing U-bends
- Ensuring facilities are maintained to a safe and high standard.
Essential Skills
- Proven maintenance and repair experience.
