We are currently recruiting for a Driver / Yard Operative to join a busy vehicle operations team based in Thurleigh. This is a hands-on role involving the safe movement of vehicles around the site, vehicle checks and general yard duties. You’ll be working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment where safety, reliability and attention to detail are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving and positioning vehicles around the yard and site
  • Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any damage or issues
  • Moving vehicles to the correct locations efficiently and safely
  • Assisting with general yard and vehicle preparation duties
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Following all site health & safety procedures
  • Working effectively as part of a busy team

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • A confident and competent driver
  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Safety-conscious with good attention to detail
  • Flexible and willing to undertake a variety of yard duties
  • Previous experience in a vehicle compound, car auction, logistics or yard environment is advantageous

  • A full UK driving licence is required
  • Good driving experience and confidence manoeuvring different vehicles
  • Previous yard, logistics or vehicle-handling experience is desirable
