The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer of 2026. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on real-world projects that directly impact our core product offerings. You will gain hands-on experience with the full software development life-cycle in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Location: Varied; Southampton, Hampshire and Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, with remote working at some customer sites across the UK.
Duration: Summer 2026 (Approximately 10-12 weeks, specific start/end dates negotiable)
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and testing of new features for our core machine vision platforms.
- Assist in optimising existing codebases for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Work with computer vision pipelines, machine learning model deployment, or embedded systems software (depending on team assignment and candidate skills).
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and daily stand-up meetings.
- Document technical specifications and processes.
- Debug and resolve software defects.
Qualifications Required
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Expected graduation date in 2026 or 2027.
- Due to the nature of the role, possession of a driving license and access to a vehicle is preferable.
