Role: Embedded Firmware Engineer
Location: Dursley, Gloucestershire
Salary: Β£40,000 approx
Work Hrs: 37 hours per week, 45-minute lunch break
Mon to Thurs: 08 00
Fri: 08 30
We are looking for a new colleague to join our engineering department.
The successful candidate will be welcomed on board a small engineering team to design and develop bespoke products in a project-based environment.
The core of your work will be developing embedded firmware for Xilinx FPGA's (VHDL) and PIC microcontrollers (C, C++).
Essential skills:
- Formal qualification such as HNC/HND/BEng.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in embedded firmware for microcontrollers.
- Excellent C/C++ coding skills.
- Experience of working with microcontrollers, preferable with PIC microcontrollers but not essential.
- Ability to derive firmware architectures & requirements from System requirements.
Desirable Skills:
- Good understanding of analogue and digital circuit designs.
- Ability to carry out schematic designs.
- Knowledge of developing GUI applications is an advantage.
- Experience in working with databases.
- Experience with FPGAs is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for developing firmware for full turn key systems which involves the integration of PIC microprocessors and Xilinx FPGA s.
- You will need to work to strict customer deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
- You must enjoy working in small teams where knowledge is shared, experience gained, and high-quality solutions delivered to our customers.
