Onsite work: It's a factory-based role, but we offer either a 4-day working week or a 4 and a half day week which is a 12 pm Friday finish.

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you are responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. Utilize engineering principles, 3D modelling software, and other design tools to create innovative solutions, working with teams of other engineers and project managers.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Creating and refining designs for mechanical systems, components, and products using CAD software and other tools.
- Analysis and Testing: Conducting simulations, prototyping, and testing to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements.
- Collaboration: Working with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop and implement designs.
- Documentation: Preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and reports to support manufacturing and other teams.
- Project Management: Managing the workflow and progress of design projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Required skills:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software, knowledge of engineering principles, and experience with design analysis tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- 5+ years’ experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment preferred, time served preferred but not essential.
- Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
