We're looking to grow our mechanical design team with 2x new hires, and we're open to bringing this person in as a Mechanical Design Engineer or a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, depending on the calibre and experience of the right candidate. This is a fast-paced environment and high precision manufacturing so we need passionate mechanical staff!
You will work proactively and collaboratively with clients, staff and other networked experts to provide comprehensive design and high-level, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions, and to produce high-quality, detailed and accurate engineering documentation that drives the successful delivery of projects and product development initiatives.

This is underpinned by an acute, practical understanding of mechanical systems, assemblies, 3D modelling, manufacturing operations, BOM creation, 2D drawings, and available materials and technologies.
You will actively support the business development process through the creation of bespoke drawings for proposals and by meeting prospective and current customers to ensure design requirements are correctly captured and documented in the scope of work. You will also produce design-for-manufacturing specification documents which meet or exceed British engineering standards and approved codes of practice.
For candidates joining at Lead level, you'll also take ownership of internal process improvements and industry-standard design release/change control methodologies (e.g. PDM), and will provide leadership and delegation to the mechanical engineers reporting to you.
