About the role
We are looking for a Senior Architectural Technician / Technologist to join our talented and motivated team in the Birmingham Studio, stepping into an established role within our friendly and collaborative team.
Responsibilities
- Producing high quality technical drawings and supporting documentation in line with Corstorphine & Wright’s Quality Management procedures
- Acting as Project Manager where required, ensuring technical services are delivered efficiently, on time and within budget
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of legislation, Building Regulations, Building Bulletins and Health & Safety requirements
- Ensuring full implementation of Corstorphine & Wright’s Quality Management System
- Managing the production of detailed design drawings, working drawings, schedules and specifications using CAD and/or BIM
- Arranging project reviews to help resolve technical challenges
- Maintaining accurate project records through CMAP (with training provided)
- Ensuring clear understanding of Appointment Documents, Scopes of Services and construction contract obligations
- Reporting potential PI claims or risks to Directors
- Mentoring junior technical team members and supporting their development
- Attending project, studio and site meetings and ensuring high quality communication across all parties
- Managing confidential information appropriately
- Supporting the maintenance of strong relationships with clients, contractors, colleagues and external stakeholders
About you
We are looking for candidates who possess the following experience and skills:
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering projects independently through multiple RIBA stages
- Strong BIM and CAD capability with proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- HNC/HND in a related discipline, or significant relevant professional experience
- Membership of CIAT or working towards chartered status
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and associated technical standards
- Ability to manage workload, make clear decisions and meet demanding deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and share knowledge
- Experience liaising with clients, contractors, consultants and third parties
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Excellent communication skills
