About the Role
As more and more patients are treated outside a traditional hospital setting, the role of the Clinic Nurse provides patient treatment in a clinic setting. Our Clinic Nurses help the NHS meet the needs of elderly, disabled or vulnerable patients who may not be able to easily visit the hospital. We are able to help support our patients to become more independent in the management of their treatment and to make the whole treatment journey more convenient. You will need to be kind, compassionate and caring with a desire to provide excellent patient experience and safe and effective care.
Duties
- Perform patient observations and ensure that any patient is fit to proceed with their treatment.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient vital signs during treatment and report any changes to the medical team.
- Provide compassionate support to the patient and family.
- Educate patients and their families to promote understanding and independence.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams ensuring that patient safety is paramount.
Requirements
- Experience of administering S/C, IM or IV medications.
- Full NMC registration, excellent cannulation/phlebotomy skills, experience in standard and complex infusion therapies.
- Chemotherapy experience is essential for this role.
