About the role
The role of the security officer is complex and varied, with the following main duties and responsibilities:
- To screen passengers and baggage in accordance with the laid down procedures.
- To search baggage as required.
- To carry out X-ray duties.
- To screen airport personnel in accordance with laid down procedures.
- To maintain the cleanliness of the terminal.
- To assist the On Call Manager with Airport/Airline emergency procedures as published in the relevant manuals.
- To assist the Airside Co-Ordinator with any Hold Baggage Reconciliation functions as required.
These disciplines require specialist training and approved training sign off.
About You
- Good basic education standards to GCSE, including English and Maths to Grade C and above.
- IT Literate.
- Good interpersonal, oral, numerical and organisational skills.
- Full Clean UK Manual Driving Licence.
- Colour Perception sufficient to use X-Ray equipment and to check pass with colour codes, Ishihara or equivalent.
- Persons being recruited must have the mental and physical abilities and aptitudes required to carry out the designated task effectively.
- Ability to obtain an airside driving permit with comprehensive medical.
