Join Our Team at Corserv Care as a Call Handler (Nights)/ TEC Officer
Salary: £12.60 per hour plus overtime and shift enhancements.
Working Hours: 37 per week across a 5 week rota. Working 12 hour shifts at night, 7pm to 7am. Some days 7am to 7pm. When we are short staffed, we will ask night time staff to move to days and vice-versa. There are some day shifts in the night time rota (approx. 3 days in a 5 week rota).
Contract Type: Permanent
Base: Corserv Care Lifeline, Office 21, Victoria Commercial Centre, Station Approach, Victoria, Roche, ST Austell PL26 8LG.
Other: Hybrid role. Some shifts are office based at Roche and some shifts are working from home. The majority of nights are home working.
About the role

We’re looking for a Call Handler/TEC Officer to join our dynamic HR team. In this key role, you'll provide vital support responding promptly and professionally to incoming emergency calls from our Corserv Care clients. Role purpose: TEC Services is a telecare service offering high quality call handling, monitoring and installation of personal alarms, sensors and other technology enabled care equipment to support people to remain in or return to their own homes and be as safe and independent as possible with the use of TEC.
What you’ll be doing:
- All calls need to be answered in accordance with Technology Enabled Care (TEC) requirements and standards. Calls will include potentially emergency life-threatening situations where you will provide the appropriate help, advice, and assistance to callers who may be in distress, including escalation to the emergency services.
- As part of the role, you will also be expected to respond to out of hours calls on behalf of Housing Associations and Local Authority partners, including emergency housing repairs, homeless assessments, and lone worker monitoring, as well as providing advice and assistance in response to general enquiries.
- The role includes administration support to TEC Service including but not limited to stock control and equipment, processing of referrals, co-ordinating appointments, and the accurate inputting and maintenance of client and related data.
- The split of duties will be approximately 75% alarm calls handling and 25% administrative support.

Qualifications & experience essential criteria:
- Good knowledge and skills in the use of databases including data input/record keeping.
- Good IT skills and ability to learn new software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work to deadlines.
- To be able to remain calm and offer excellent customer service.
- Ability to be flexible to meet rota pattern and service priorities.
Qualifications & experience desirable criteria:
- Experience in health or social care
- Previous call centre experience
- Knowledge of technology enabled care equipment
