Arborist/climber required for Landscape team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced person to join the Landscape team at CORMAC, focusing on practical arboricultural operations across Cormac Solutions Ltd, Cornwall Council owned property, and external clients.

Duties will include:

  • Undertake tree climbing operations and tree removal works.
  • Attend daily to trees that may affect people, such as overhanging trees or those posing a threat to pavements, gardens, walkways, and roads.
  • Prune trees to various standards, including crown reduction, crown thinning, and crown lifting to specified percentage and distance.
  • Fell trees of various sizes using assisted felling techniques such as winch, rope, wedges, and levers.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation related to the tasks undertaken.

About you:

  • Experience with practical arboricultural skills and strong team working.
  • Strong commercial instincts, ability to deliver high standard tree climbing operations, and willingness to undertake large dismantling projects.
  • Good knowledge of the arboricultural industry, NPTC qualifications up to CS41, preference for NPTC units in land based skills, C1+E driving licence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, flexible attitude, innovative approach to topics and issues within a growing team.
  • Experience delivering specialist arboricultural work across a defined geographical area in west Cornwall.
  • Responsibility for operational delivery, including Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Financial aspects.
  • Proven track record of high quality results and risk assessment.
  • Must hold NPTC Chainsaw, climbing & aerial rescue certifications and UK driving licence.
