Cormac Solutions Ltd is looking for a highly organised and proactive officer, with a passion for the natural environment and delivering high-quality customer service. This role will join the Environment Network team, in its delivery of ongoing management of Cornwall Council Environment Public Open Space assets. This includes formal parks and gardens, amenity areas, play areas, cemeteries and closed churchyards, as well as the maintenance of urban highway verge areas.
You will represent the team in front-line customer service, handling a range of different queries from the public, elected officials and local stakeholders with confidence, accuracy and in a professional manner. This will support the wider team in appropriately responding to queries and complaints in a timely way, especially where risks are identified, and you will be expected to confidently triage and prioritise new cases as they come in. You will liaise internally with other teams and our client, so the ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships is essential.
Duties will include:
- Serve as the primary contact for the public, elected officials, town and parish councils, local organisations, landowners, tenants, individuals, and user groups regarding the management of Public Open Spaces, Formal Parks and Gardens, Play Areas, Cemeteries, Closed Churchyards, and urban highway verges.
- Assess and prioritise new cases based on required standards and legal obligations, taking prompt and appropriate action according to procedures and technical knowledge, aiming to resolve enquiries as the first point of contact.
- Assist with and lead the preparation of technical correspondence and reports, including drafting legal letters to landowners to enforce compliance with legislation.
- Assist in preparing and compiling internal process documents, such as site management plans and process flowcharts.
- Receive and handle direct requests as well as those referred from the Cormac and Cornwall Council administration teams.
- Maintain the Environment Service’s data management systems, including managing access to sensitive information and generating technical reports as required.
About You:
- Experience and knowledge in an environment, customer and data management related role.
- Confident workload management ability as part of a busy team.
- Proven experience of providing specialist advice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience with a range of computer-based word processing and data management.
