Join Our Team at Corserv Care as a Part Time Support Worker.

Salary: £13.45 per hour

Working Hours: 22.2 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday 8:40am to 4:00pm.

Contract Type: Permanent

Base: The Bridge, Link into Learning, Tregenver Road, Falmouth, TR11 2QW

About the role: Are you an enthusiastic, positive and proactive individual with a passion for supporting people? Corserv Care is looking for a new team member who has great communication skills and a passion for working in a supportive role. We need a colleague who has empathy and caring characteristics, who will support adults with learning and physical disabilities to achieve their best outcomes possible.

Role Purpose: The Support Worker role is critical to ensuring that the day opportunity services offered by Corserv Care maximise independence, enable access to local opportunities and help to meet the outcomes that people want to achieve, thus supporting people to live full, meaningful lives.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Encourage individuals in their daily activities and provide appropriate levels of support.
  • Provide support in accordance with that outlined in the individual support plans.
  • Encourage the achievement of personal goals and outcomes as outlined in personal support plans.
  • Be committed to the safeguarding of all individuals against the risk of abuse or neglect, in compliance with Corserv’s Safeguarding Policy.
  • Work in a way which is caring, empathetic and respectful at all times.
  • Be responsible for secure storage and administering of medication in line with the medication policy.
  • Support individuals in the management of their personal belongings including their money.
  • Be prepared to support individuals to access a range of transport options.
  • Assist individuals in accessing opportunities or experiences off site, in the community.
  • Work with other professionals to identify and implement strategies for individuals with higher and more complex needs.
  • Assist with personal care for individuals when appropriate, respecting personal dignity at all times.
  • Support and enable individuals to access advocacy services and, when requested, support individuals in making their choices.
  • Communicate effectively, including taking part in staff meetings, team discussions as required and attending reviews or meetings deemed relevant to the role.
  • Carry out basic IT functions such as accessing information via the intranet and maintaining electronic records, writing simple reports and carrying out basic online functions.
  • Read and write routine records pertaining to the support of an individual.
  • Liaise with other team members, professionals and carers.
  • Be responsible for your own continuing self‑development and undertake relevant training as required to meet the needs of individuals using our service.
