Arborist/climber required for Landscape team. This role is focused on practical arboricultural operations within the business remit of CORMAC.
Responsibilities
- Undertake tree climbing operations and tree removal works;
- Attend daily to trees which may affect people, e.g., trees that may be overhanging or pose a threat to pavements, gardens, walkways and roads;
- Prune trees to various standards and descriptions such as crown reduction, crown thinning, and crown lifting to percentage and distance;
- Felling of trees of various sizes using a range of assisted felling techniques such as winch, rope, wedges and levers;
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation relating to the task being undertaken.
Qualifications
- Enthusiastic, experienced person who can demonstrate excellent practical arboricultural skills, together with strong team working experience;
- Strong commercial instincts and the ability to carry out tree climbing operations to a high standard, including aerial tree surgery, large dismantling operations, pruning techniques, and good knowledge of the arboricultural domain;
- NPTC qualifications up to CS41, C1+E Driving Licence desirable along with associated NPTC units in land‑based skills preferred;
- Ability to deliver projects safely, drive productivity, reduce costs and meet client expectations;
- Demonstrable ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients, with a flexible attitude to work demands and an innovative approach to topics and issues as part of a growing arboricultural team;
- Key role to undertake specialist arboricultural works as part of a team, mainly focused on arboricultural and landscape activities within a given geographical area of west Cornwall;
- Responsible for all aspects of operational delivery including Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality and Financial for all works delivered within their jurisdiction;
- Safety is of paramount importance – ability to spot hazards, risk assess, work to established safe working procedures and follow industry best practice, with a proven track record of high quality results;
- Must have NPTC Chainsaw, climbing & aerial rescue along with industry experience;
- Must have UK Driving Licence.
