About DermaWeave
DermaWeave is a world-first contactless microfibrous delivery system for use following cosmetic procedures. Developed by Corryn Biotechnologies, the platform uses a patented handheld applicator and single-use fluid cartridge to form a breathable, soluble microfibre matrix directly onto the skin, delivering soothing coverage and consistent cosmeceutical release. We are a lean, fast-moving startup currently in regulatory and clinical testing phases, with a commercial launch targeted for summer 2026.
Job Summary
We are hiring a Senior Formulation Scientist to take full ownership of the DermaWeave active-eluting formulation from now through to commercial launch and beyond. This is a hands-on, autonomous role. You will lead all formulation development and stability testing, produce documentation to UK, EU and US regulatory agencies, and work directly with founders, clinical partners, and aesthetic practitioners. You will be expected to make decisions, drive progress, and own outcomes. This role is not for someone who needs an established team or a well-trodden path. It is for a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and takes genuine pride in scientific rigour.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead formulation development for DermaWeave's fluid cartridge system.
- Drive formulation activities through the current regulatory and clinical testing phase.
- Select and substantiate active ingredients (ceramides, barrier-repair lipids, calming agents, humectants) appropriate for skin care products.
- Design, execute, and interpret stability protocols (real-time, accelerated, photo-stability) and preservation efficacy testing.
- Produce and maintain rigorous technical documentation — formulation records, SOPs, batch manufacturing instructions, safety dossiers — to standard required for UK, EU and US regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical partners and aesthetic practitioners to align formulation performance with real-world post-procedure outcomes.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative environment.
