Due to our continued growth, Corrigenda is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to carry out a wide range of planned and reactive mechanical and plumbing tasks across the Southampton and Portsmouth region. The role involves working across a varied portfolio including schools, care homes, council buildings, and domestic properties (including HIUs). While most of the work is within commercial environments in the private and public sectors, there will also be some domestic properties included.
Typical duties will include the installation, maintenance, and repair of:
- Expansion vessels
- Safety valves
- Radiators
- Pipework
- AHU coils
- Pressurisation units
- Heat interface units
- Fan convectors
- Associated systems
Work will be carried out on both potable and non‑potable systems.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate (within capabilities and training)
- Support the business and develop apprentices in learning new skills
- Work alone or as part of a team to meet required deadlines and contract performance standards
- Work flexible hours to suit business requirements
- Work safely at all times, including working at height as required
- Liaise with sub‑contractors and other parts of the business to complete necessary repairs
- Any other tasks required by the company within skill set/experience
Qualifications:
- A suitable City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification
- Recognised Health & Safety training
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction
- Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation
- Full UK driving licence
- Pass DBS/Police background checks for working in schools/Police stations
- Experience with unvented water systems
- Understanding of Water Regulations
