Due to our continued growth, Corrigenda is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Mechanical Engineer to carry out a wide range of planned and reactive mechanical and plumbing tasks across the Southampton and Portsmouth region. The role involves working across a varied portfolio including schools, care homes, council buildings, and domestic properties (including HIUs).
Typical duties will include:
- The installation, maintenance, and repair of expansion vessels, safety valves, radiators, pipework, AHU coils, pressurisation units, heat interface units, fan convectors, and associated systems.
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the estate.
- Supporting the business and developing apprentices in learning new skills.
- Working on own or as part of a team to meet required deadlines and contract performance standards.
- Working flexible hours to suit business requirements.
- Working safely at all times, including working at height as required.
- Liaising with sub-contractors and other parts of the business to complete necessary repairs.
- Any other tasks required by the company within skill set/experience.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:
- A suitable City and Guilds or equivalent NVQ qualification.
- Recognised Health & Safety training.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Be able to operate SMART devices and complete electronic documentation.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Pass DBS / Police background checks for working in schools / Police stations.
- Unvented water systems.
