Job Summary
Due to ongoing growth, Corrigenda is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Estimator to join our growing Capital Projects team, working on Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC projects within the public sector and direct client‐led opportunities. With project values ranging from £25,000 to £1.5 million, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of meaningful work that delivers long‐lasting, sustainable impact. As we embark on a major Decarbonisation journey, supporting our clients in achieving their environmental goals, there has never been a better time to join us. This role will place you at the heart of our commercial success, providing accurate, competitive and compelling cost estimates that drive project wins.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive tenders using estimating software (e.g., Contract Master or Ensign).
- Create high‐quality qualitative documents to support our bid submissions.
- Reporting to the commercial manager you will be responsible for presenting tender reviews prior to submission.
- Manage the tender process from enquiry to final submission, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Read all tender documents before an estimate is started and ensure any discrepancies between spec / drawings / tender summary are picked up.
- Reading construction drawings.
- Identifying risks and tender complexity.
- Attend site surveys, client meetings or tender interviews as required.
- Analyse supplier and sub‐contractor quotes to ensure compliance with tender specifications.
- Keep cost databases current, reflecting market trends in materials and labour.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather all necessary bid information.
- Provide commercial support to the project team during handover and delivery.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, representing Corrigenda professionally at all times.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an estimating role within the M&E/HVAC sector.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tenders under pressure, with a strong eye for detail.
- Understanding of construction drawings.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experienced in using estimating software such as Contract Master or Ensign.
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Pass DBS / Police background checks for working in schools / Police stations.
