We are currently recruiting for a Pricing / Commercial Executive to join an established freight forwarding business based in South West London, offering a salary of £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. This role would suit an experienced freight forwarding professional with a background in Air and/or Ocean freight, who is commercially minded and enjoys working closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver competitive pricing solutions.

You will be responsible for handling day-to-day pricing requests, sourcing rates from suppliers, preparing quotations and following up with customers to maximise conversion opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily customer pricing and quotation requests across Air and Ocean freight
  • Liaise directly with customers to understand their requirements and provide tailored pricing solutions
  • Contact airlines, shipping lines, agents and other suppliers to obtain up-to-date rates
  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure pricing is received within required timescales
  • Compare and evaluate multiple supplier offers to secure competitive pricing
  • Prepare accurate pricing sheets and customer quotations
  • Follow up on quotations and actively chase customer feedback to maximise conversion
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Work closely with pricing and operations teams to support commercial objectives
  • Ensure all pricing is accurate, competitive and delivered within agreed deadlines
  • Maintain organised records of quotations, customer communication and follow-up activity
  • Manage multiple pricing requests and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and service levels

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within freight forwarding is essential
  • Experience in Air and/or Ocean freight is highly desirable
  • Previous pricing, quotations or commercial experience would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes and supplier relationships
  • Commercially minded with a strong customer focus
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong follow-up skills and a proactive approach
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
  • Confident communicating with customers and suppliers by phone and email
