We’re working with an established international freight forwarder looking to appoint an experienced Airfreight Business Development Manager to develop new business across Heathrow and the wider South East. This is an excellent opportunity for an established freight sales professional to join a well-resourced forwarding business with a strong operational platform, competitive global solutions and the capability to support both SME and larger corporate accounts.

The position will be predominantly new-business focused, identifying prospects, building a strong pipeline and converting opportunities into profitable, long-term customers.

The Role

  • Identify, target and secure new airfreight business across the South East
  • Develop a strong pipeline of import and export airfreight opportunities
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers across prospective customers
  • Attend regular face-to-face meetings and manage the full sales cycle
  • Work closely with airfreight operations and pricing teams to develop competitive solutions
  • Identify opportunities to introduce additional freight and logistics services
  • Prepare and deliver commercial presentations, tenders and proposals
  • Maintain accurate CRM activity and sales forecasts
  • Achieve agreed revenue, gross profit and new-business targets

The Person

  • Proven experience within airfreight sales / freight forwarding business development
  • Strong understanding of international airfreight imports and exports
  • An established network within the Heathrow / South East freight market
  • Successful track record of winning and developing new accounts
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of freight margins
  • Confident dealing with senior decision-makers and procurement teams
  • Proactive, new-business focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence
