Freight Operator – Aerospace
Location: Heathrow Area
Salary: £36,000 – £40,000 depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30
Flexible hours available: 08:00 – 16:30 or 10:00 – 18:30
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freight Operator – Aerospace to join an established freight forwarding business based in the Heathrow area.
The successful candidate will have solid freight forwarding experience, with at least 2 years’ aerospace experience preferred, and will be responsible for coordinating shipments across Air and Road freight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing import, export and cross-trade shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Arranging collections, carrier bookings and transport services
- Liaising with customers, airlines, hauliers and overseas partners
- Preparing freight quotations and obtaining carrier and supplier rates
- Supporting spot quotes and RFQs
- Monitoring shipments and proactively resolving delays or service issues
- Preparing and checking freight and customs documentation
- Coordinating customs clearance and final delivery
- Managing invoicing, cost accruals and supplier invoices
- Ensuring shipments are handled compliantly and in line with customer requirements
- Maintaining strong customer relationships and delivering a high level of service
About You:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within freight forwarding, transport or logistics
- 2 years’ aerospace freight experience preferred
- Strong Air Freight experience, with Road Freight knowledge desirable
- Experience handling import, export and cross-trade shipments
- Experience with freight quotations, pricing and obtaining supplier rates
- Good knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures and freight documentation
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a customer-focused approach
