Road Freight Coordinator – Import & Export
Location: Bristol, BS1
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Are you an experienced Road Freight professional looking for a varied, hands-on role within a friendly and supportive team?
We are working with an international logistics business looking to recruit a Road Freight Coordinator to join their small Bristol branch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with European road freight experience who enjoys managing shipments end to end and working in a close-knit, relaxed environment.
The role will focus primarily on road exports, with some imports, offering plenty of variety and responsibility across the full shipment process.
The Role
You will be responsible for coordinating road freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring customers receive a reliable and efficient service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing European road export and import shipments, primarily groupage
- Preparing quotations and negotiating rates with transport partners
- Booking shipments and coordinating collections and deliveries
- Liaising with customers, carriers and overseas partners
- Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates
- Preparing and checking shipping documentation
- Raising invoices and ensuring shipments are closed out correctly
- Resolving transport issues and dealing with delays or queries
- Building strong customer relationships and maintaining high service standards
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who have:
- At least 1–2 years' experience in European road freight, ideally across imports or exports
- Experience working for a freight forwarder or within a customer-facing logistics environment
- The ability to manage shipments through the full process, from quotation through to invoicing
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well within a small team
