A well-established, independently owned security systems specialist is expanding its regional engineering team and is now seeking a Security Installation & Service Engineer to support new and existing customer sites.
This Security Installation & Service Engineer role offers a varied mix of new installations, planned preventative maintenance and reactive call-outs across commercial environments. You will be trusted to work autonomously, diagnose faults efficiently and deliver high standards of workmanship on every visit.
As a Security Installation & Service Engineer, you will be involved in installing and maintaining intruder alarm systems, with occasional cover on servicing activities during holiday or sickness periods. The role suits a proactive engineer who enjoys problem-solving, understands compliance requirements and can complete small associated electrical remedial works when required.
What you’ll be doing:
- Installing and maintaining intruder alarm systems to industry standards
- Attending fault-finding and breakdown call-outs as part of a rota
- Carrying out preventative maintenance visits
- Completing accurate job reports and documentation
- Representing the business professionally on customer sites
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Security Installation & Service Engineer or similar role
- Background in intruder alarm installation and servicing
- Ability to fault-find confidently and work independently
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Full UK driving licence
Advantageous experience:
- Risco intruder products
- CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm systems
- NSI / BAFE environments
Package & benefits:
- Salary in the region of £35,000–£40,000, dependent on experience
- Overtime and call-out payments on top of basic salary
- Travel time paid as overtime for journeys exceeding 1 hour each way
- Holiday allowance increasing from 20 to 25 days with service
- Full-time, permanent position with long-term stability
