This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a background in general server/network/infrastructure support, now working as a Cyber Security Engineer or Cyber Security Analyst, to join a growing, award-winning company at their head offices in Basingstoke. The successful Cyber Security Engineer will be required to have a full UK driving license as this role will involve ad hoc travel to other sites/data centres.
The Cyber Security Engineer will be joining the internal security team, monitoring and analysing real-time security events using SIEM tools to detect and respond to potential threats. The Cyber Security Engineer will conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and mitigate security risks and breaches, and will investigate security incidents and conduct forensic analysis to determine the root cause and recommend remediation actions. Outside of this, you will be an enthusiastic individual with a passion for all things security and will stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry standard methodologies, providing recommendations for improvements.
The Cyber Security Engineer will be joining a well-established Managed Service Provider with ambition and a clear plan for growth. Prior commercial experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or Cyber Security Analyst, ideally within a similar SME-sized organisation is required. A background in general Windows server support, ideally with broad experience of networks, virtualisation, etc. Any experience or knowledge of ISO27001 as well as with penetration testing/vulnerability scanning would be highly advantageous.
