Job Description

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, AWS, Linux, COR7296

Are you a versatile Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / AWS Cloud Engineer with a passion for cloud-native infrastructure, automation, and hands-on systems administration?  My client, an Oxfordshire-based scale-up in the Medtech sector is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment where modern DevOps practices meet robust system-level thinking – blending Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and cloud architecture with traditional systems expertise.

The Role

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / AWS Cloud Engineer you will work in a project-focused capacity, playing a critical role in building, deploying, configuring, securing, and automating the infrastructure that supports a high-availability platform, working predominantly within AWS, using both Terraform and Ansible.

Additionally, whether an area in which you already have experience, or one in which you would like to develop, the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / AWS Cloud Engineer will develop automation and tooling in Python to support infrastructure operations and CI/CD processes, whilst also working to troubleshoot and resolve issues across cloud, network, and Linux-based systems.

The Company

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer / AWS Cloud Engineer will be joining a company whose patient-monitoring platform has been scientifically proven to deliver safer, high-quality and efficient patient care, at an exciting time of growth and expansion into new markets.  As a well-funded scale-up, they offer an entrepreneurial team spirit, where you'll be contributing directly to the team's success.  Working predominantly remotely, you'd ideally be onsite a couple of times each month, although there will be other opportunities for meeting up as a team off-site.

Benefits

  • Predominantly remote working
  • Opportunities for certification and continued learning
  • 25 days' holiday, with the ability to purchase more
  • Share options
  • Private health insurance
  • Wellbeing days

What’s required to be successful in this role?

  • Proven experience with AWS cloud services and architecture design, specifically S3 and EC2
  • Strong hands-on skills in Infrastructure-as-Code, especially with Terraform.
  • Experience with Ansible for configuration management.
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems – specifically Ubuntu
  • Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, ECS, or EKS).
  • Either some experience of, or an interest in, Python for automation, scripting and infrastructure tooling.

So What's Next?

If you are an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer or AWS Cloud Engineer looking for your next technical challenge and the opportunity to further develop your skills within a forward-thinking team that values automation, scalability, and modern engineering culture, we’d love to hear from you!
