As a Heating Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the operations of gas installations within our organisation. Your primary responsibilities will include managing a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and optimising workflow efficiency to meet production targets. You will be tasked with conducting regular inspections of gas installations, identifying and resolving operational issues, and implementing preventive maintenance measures to uphold system integrity. Collaborating closely with other departments, you will contribute to strategic planning efforts aimed at enhancing service reliability and customer satisfaction. Your strong leadership skills, technical expertise in gas installations, and commitment to safety will be essential in achieving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our gas operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out supervision of staff and quality control visits on gas appliances and central heating systems to client properties.
- Always conduct themselves professionally and responsibly on behalf of CCS Limited.
- Carry out all works in line with Gas Safety Installation and use Regulations, Gas Safe requirements, company procedures, and stipulations.
- Support the Installation Contracts Manager in day-to-day operations.
- Develop apprentices by supervising and training on different elements of their portfolio.
- Provide or information share to aid development of trade staff by the same opportunities.
- Resolve technical problems through communication with staff, analysing data, and identifying solutions with the Installation Contract Manager.
- Provide all technical support and guidance to operatives.
- Maintain installation time frames and quality standards of the company by process management of installations, ensuring efficiency and safety with a high-quality finish.
- Deliver a high-quality service to clients and their customers, respecting all individuals and meeting the challenges presented.
- Carry out all works strictly in line with company procedures and industry standards: Gas Safe, Gas Regulations, code of practice, and best practice.
- Manage all customer complaints, investigations on works completed and to be completed.
- Manage all Health and Safety and TBTs monthly for trades operatives.
- Liaise with residents and CCS clients regarding the works being undertaken.
- Support administrative and office staff to coordinate the work in line with CCS processes.
- Work with the central compliance team to ensure all auditing of operatives and equipment is undertaken in a timely manner.
- Undertake all appraisals and performance reviews, disciplinary investigations, and management of operatives.
- Stay up to date with all gas safety legislation and codes of practice involving your given discipline and maintain ACS qualifications.
- Support with difficult surveys and QC checks to maintain customer promise.
- Manage and support a team of surveyors and QC staff in the Installation department.
- Engage and attend all staff briefings and company functions.
- Liaise with all other engineers and staff to ensure targets are reached, organising electrical works and building works on any given installation.
- Produce weekly reporting on performance and activities directly to the Senior Contract Manager.
- Ensure all operatives are submitting valid and accurate time sheets, delivery notes, expenses, and any other documentation weekly.
Skills / Qualifications
- General competence in the given trade: CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1.
- C&G Energy efficiency.
- NVQ 2 or equivalent.
- Unvented hot water systems would be advantageous.
- Good fault-finding skills.
- Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility, and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Experience of working within the Social Housing sector on gas installation projects and maintenance contracts.
- Experience supervising others preferred.
- Experience of working directly with residents and clients.
- A clean UK driving license and DBS check will be required.
- Experience working within the renewables industry.
