Purpose of the Role
The Trainee Recruitment Consultant will support the recruitment team in delivering high-quality recruitment services to clients and candidates. The role focuses on sourcing, screening, placing, and supporting temporary and contract workers whilst developing knowledge of recruitment processes, compliance requirements, and client service standards. This is an entry-level position designed to provide training and development within recruitment, with opportunities to progress into a Recruitment Consultant role.
Main Responsibilities
- Candidate Attraction and Recruitment
- Assist with advertising vacancies across job boards, social media, and other recruitment channels
- Source and identify suitable candidates for temporary and contract vacancies
- Conduct initial candidate screening calls and interviews
- Register candidates on the company CRM and maintain accurate records
- Obtain references and ensure all candidate documentation is completed
- Build and maintain a talent pool of qualified candidates for future opportunities
- Candidate Management
- Maintain regular contact with candidates throughout the recruitment process
- Ensure candidates are fully briefed on job roles, responsibilities, locations, rates of pay, and client expectations
- Coordinate interviews and communicate feedback to candidates
- Support candidate onboarding and induction processes where required
- Conduct welfare and check-in calls with workers during assignments
- Respond professionally to candidate queries regarding assignments, payroll, and holidays
- Client Support
- Develop an understanding of client businesses, industries, working environments, and recruitment needs
- Support the recruitment team in delivering recruitment campaigns and fulfilling bookings
- Assist in ensuring vacancies are filled within agreed service levels and timeframes
- Respond promptly to client enquiries and requests under the guidance of senior team members
- Participate in client meetings and service reviews when appropriate
- Compliance and Administration
- Ensure all recruitment activities comply with employment legislation, industry regulations, and company policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on the company CRM system
- Assist with timesheet processing and ensure deadlines are met
- Work closely with the payroll and finance teams to resolve any worker-related issues
- Support the preparation and maintenance of management information, reports, and KPI tracking documents
- Ensure all candidate files and compliance records are complete and audit-ready

- Participate fully in all internal and external training provided
- Develop knowledge of recruitment terminology, legislation, and best practice
- Learn company processes, systems, and service standards

- Additional Duties
- Provide out-of-hours support on a rotational basis once fully trained
- Assist colleagues and managers with ad hoc recruitment and administrative tasks as required
