We are working with a well-established client located in Biggleswade. Our client is looking for an Assistant Quality Inspector to join their fast-growing team.
40 hrs per week MONDAY – THURSDAY 7.00am - 4.00pm, FRIDAY 7.00am – 1.00pm. Must be able to speak and understand English. The successful candidate MUST have experience. You will be asked to perform a test of your ability in the interview. Pay - £13.50 - £17.50 p.h. depending upon experience.
Main Duties:
- Reporting to the Quality Control Manager
- Inspect the quality of the company’s products, ensuring they comply with the requirements set out within the ISO 9001 certification.
- Ensuring that all products prior to fabrication are quality checked and tested.
- Eliminate rejects after the work has been completed.
- Raising any queries which may be detected, and where recurring themes arise, they are escalated to the quality assurance team.
- Liaison with suppliers on QA issues.
- Audit compliance with ISO 9001 QMS and look to introduce FAIRS reports.
- Inspection of all production and machining areas and reporting of defects/deviations.
- Help with filling out spreadsheets compiling findings and recommend process/product quality improvements to assist continuous improvement.
- Raise NCR’s as required.
- Work flexibly with other departments and customers.
Qualifications/Skills required:
- Basic Secondary education (Math's, Science, English).
- Mechanical Engineering background advantageous.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Understand engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of engineering principles.
- Good understanding of inspection equipment/techniques used.
- IT literacy (Microsoft Office).
- Presentable appearance as occasional meetings with suppliers possible.
- Flexible approach.
- Ability to work as part of a team and individually as required.
