Corpus Christi Catholic Primary Academy, part of the St Gabriel the Archangel Multi Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an inspiring, passionate Teaching Assistant to join our trust to support our incredible EYFS phase.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young children, and a desire to support foundational knowledge across the breadth of the curriculum in order to get every pupil off to the best start in school. The candidate must have a strong commitment to inclusive education and be capable of working both independently and as part of a team in our welcoming and successful school. The post requires the candidate to have experience of working within an EYFS setting across the early years phase.

Suitable candidates would benefit from having experience and training related to delivering the RWI phonics scheme.

We are looking for candidates who are professional, engaging, dynamic and eager to contribute to the spiritual and academic development of the children in our school. An ability to communicate effectively with children, within the team and with parents is essential. The successful practitioner will need to be flexible with working on a 1:1, small group or whole-class basis, and be a great team member to add further strength to the phase.

The successful applicant will:

  • Work under the direction and guidance of teaching / senior staff in supporting pupils working across the academy, to ensure they make excellent progress.
  • Contribute to the strong Catholic ethos of our academy.
  • Have experience delivering phonics lessons (Corpus Christi is a RWI school).
  • Meet pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural needs as well as their pastoral and welfare needs. This includes working closely with staff, parents and outside agencies where necessary to promote effective safeguarding of all children.
  • Develop good relationships with pupils, staff, parents, representatives, directors and primary MAT partners.
