Job Description
Our client, a leader in the power sports industry, is seeking an experienced Email Developer for a 5+ month contract assignment in Plymouth, MN. This role is hybrid.
Job Summary:
The Email Developer is responsible for developing responsive emails for both batch sends and automated programs alongside a team of email designers and developers. The developer will produce, proof, test, and troubleshoot dynamic content HTML emails that follow both brand and current email standards. As well as be expected to help team members develop necessary skillsets and create operational efficiencies leveraging the tools and technology available.
The successful candidate must be able to show specific work samples demonstrating clean, high-quality email code that supports templated designs with brand standards and leverages current email best practices across mail inboxes/email clients.
You\’ll be working across company brands and teams, juggling multiple emails at once – all in different lifecycle stages. Excellent time management skills and attention to detail are a must.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and optimize the execution process of HTML emails for single send campaigns and automated programs in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (previously ExactTarget)
- Integrate personalization and dynamic content for highly segmented audiences using AMPscript
- Maintain standardized processes for complete end-to-end testing for each email, including display testing and dynamic content (verifying creative and/or content versioning for different audiences)
- Maintain/enhance reusable modular, responsive HTML email templates, as needed
- Advocate for key email best practices to maximize deliverability, inbox placement, accessibility, and engagement helping internal and external partners understand why these best practices are important and support their business goals
- Cross-training on all brands email processes, helping with support and updates/enhancements in SFMC
- Help maintain and expand documentation, and help other developers through training and troubleshooting
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in web design/development, software development, or other code-related areas of study, or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of experience developing responsive, table-based HTML emails – must be entirely comfortable reading, editing, and writing HTML/CSS without the assistance of drag-and-drop editors
- Experience with automated email campaigns and/or transactional emails
- Experience with URL tagging for Google Analytics (experience or interest in reporting and analysis a plus)
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Photoshop) or Figma.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and skilled at self-managing timelines and deliverables based on agreed-upon priorities
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically for a variety of use cases, with strong problem solving skills
- Strong understanding of how data is structured and how to use it for each core use case (leads, owners, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, particularly intermediate to advanced experience with personalization and data-driven dynamic content for different audiences with AMPscript
- Experience with developing HTML/CSS for Dark Mode.
- Experience setting automated programs, including triggers, entry/exit paths, decision points, and testing.
- Experience with multichannel marketing, particularly SMS.
- Experience with SQL queries.
- Ability to setup automated programs, including triggers, entry/exit paths, decision points, and testing.
- Experience as a supervisor or technical lead, guiding and training other developers.
Pay Rate $48.70 – $50.70 per hour
