We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. This will be achieved through applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned & ad‑hoc site patrols together with other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions. In the event of an emergency follow prescribed escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services.

Shift details: average 42 hours per week on a 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off rotation. Shifts 07:00‑19:00 for days and 19:00‑07:00 for nights.

What you will need:

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front‑Line License – essential.
  • Able to pass SC and Bank of England Vetting Standards/UK residence requirement – 5 years before date of employment.
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft software packages (e.g. Excel).
  • Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards.

What you are going to do:

  • Conduct body searches on female attendees of the building.
  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and customer requirements.
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
  • Ensure patrols are carried out to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
  • Maintain familiarity with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal; ensure first aid and fire marshal training are updated according to legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism; your SIA licence must always be displayed.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
