We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to be trained and required to work at several of our client’s premises to assist us with holiday and sickness cover, with a view to being allocated a fixed shift pattern when the opportunities arise. As part of our company philosophy, we believe in investing time and resources into our colleagues. We encourage internal promotions and development, so if a permanent contracted vacancy becomes available, you will be contacted first! You will be working various hours covering days or nights. Shift times will be: 0600‑1800 or 1800‑0600.

What you will need:

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front‑Line Licence – essential
  • A valid SIA CCTV Licence – desirable
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft software packages (e.g. Excel).
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle or reliable transport.
  • Ability to achieve vetting to BS7858 standards.

What you are going to do:

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors to the site are correctly briefed and sign in and out.
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
  • Ensure patrols are carried out to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours security provision, if applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
  • Ensure familiarity with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal so that your skills remain up to date, particularly your first aid and fire marshal training being in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must always be displayed.
  • Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed.
