We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Checkpoint Officer that will deliver protection to the business through deterrence and detection of acts of terrorism, sabotage, arson and damage by implementing the appropriate procedures at the site boundary gates. You will be working an average of 42 hours per week covering days and nights. Shift pattern will be: 4 on, 4 off.

What you will need:

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front-Line License - essential
  • A Full UK Driving License - essential
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure.
  • Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)
  • Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards

What are you going to do:

  • Provide access and egress controls in order to ensure only authorised persons and visitors are allowed on site in compliance with site access policy.
  • Ensure all heavy goods vehicles entering and leaving site comply with Dispatch Control procedures in order to detect and deter criminal activity.
  • Provide access control over all traffic movements to ensure vehicles are correctly registered and authorised to be on site.
  • Conduct random vehicle searches to detect and deter theft of property and acts of terrorism.
  • Monitor driver behaviour to ensure the on site driving policy is being complied with, including utilising the UNIPAR speed gun to monitor speed limits.
  • When required, conduct random foot and vehicle patrols in order to deter and detect theft of property, acts of vandalism, sabotage and terrorism.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
