Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA‑Licensed Security Officer to support several client premises, providing holiday and sickness cover and ultimately aiming for a fixed shift pattern. The role requires a strong focus on client service, safety and teamwork across day, night and weekend shifts (0500‑1700 or 1700‑0500).

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
  • Valid SIA Front‑Line Licence (essential)
  • Valid UK driving licence (essential)
  • Confidence and ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and manage pressure
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel
  • Valid UK driving licence and personal vehicle or reliable transport
  • Achievement of BS7858 standard vetting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, conduct regular patrols and record activities as per client requirements.
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors are correctly briefed and sign in/out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of deliveries on site, processing paperwork in line with quality procedures.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm systems for out‑of‑hours security when applicable.
  • Comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Complete daily occurrence logs, shift handovers, incident/accident records and other required reports.
  • Familiarise with assignment instructions, risk assessments and safety documents; advise the Duty Manager and client personnel on potential improvements.
  • Maintain training records via the Corps Colleague Portal, ensuring up‑to‑date first aid and fire marshal training.
  • Continuously apply SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism, and always display the licence.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
