We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Supervisor to be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of security operations across the UCL East Campus. The role ensures that security officers deliver a safe, professional and customer-focused service, while maintaining compliance with UCL procedures, safeguarding duties, accommodation support, and the effective use of the Gallagher Access Control and Alarm Monitoring Systems. You will be working an average of 42 hours per week on a 4 days, 4 off, 4 nights, 4 off rotation. Shifts will be 07:00 - 19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support on-duty Security Officers
- Ensure staff compliance with Assignment Instructions, SOPs and UCL standards
- Deliver daily briefings, tasking and deployment of officers
- Monitor performance, timekeeping, and professional conduct
- Ensure FOH posts are correctly staffed and provide a high-quality customer service presence
- Manage escalated enquiries, complaints and service issues professionally
- Maintain standards of presentation, behaviour and customer engagement
- Act as first escalation point for safeguarding concerns, welfare incidents and vulnerable persons
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and incidents are reported correctly
- Liaise with UCL Accommodation, Student Support and Estates teams as required
- Supervise use of the Gallagher Access Control System
- Ensure internal and external patrol regimes are completed and recorded
- Lead on-site response to fire alarms, evacuations, lockdowns, lift entrapments and major incidents
- Coordinate officers during emergencies and liaise with Control Room, Estates and Emergency Services
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus
- A valid SIA Door Supervisor License - essential
- Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels
- Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure
- Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)
- Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards
