Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer in the Ellesmere Port area to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff and visitors on site.
This will be achieved through applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned & ad‑hoc site patrols together with other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions.
In the event of an emergency you will follow prescribed escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and the emergency services.
The role is 28 hours per week with a mixture of days, nights and weekends and various start and finish times.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
- A valid SIA Front‑Line License – essential.
- A full UK manual driving licence – essential.
- Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office (e. g. Excel).
- Ability to achieve vetting to BS7858 standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
- Ensure all visitors and contractors to the site are correctly briefed and sign in and out.
- Record the entry and exit of deliveries whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
- Ensure that patrols are carried out to the correct standards.
- Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours security provision if applicable.
- Comply with site waste management procedures.
- Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
- Familiarise with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
- Maintain training records via the Corps Colleague Portal so that skills remain up to date, especially first aid and fire marshal training in accordance with legislative guidelines.
- Continuously apply SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. The SIA licence must always be displayed.
- Perform ad‑hoc duties as directed.
